TCP slow start in linux

Hi All,

Is it possible to skip slow start in Linux (kernel 2.6.12) TCP connection?

I tried reducing the connection state variable "snd_ssthresh" below
"snd_cwnd" but started getting lot of retransmits in slowstart.
