get IP address from struct net_device

Hi:
  Is it possible to get IP address from structure net_device?
  I found net_device has a field : ip_ptr, then it can be changed type to
in_device. However, in struct in_device, I saw something like ip_address:
(__u32) ifa_list -> ifa_address. I wonder why it is a link list?
  Am I right? Or any other better methods to get IP address from structure
net_device?
