arp and bridging

Hello,
I want to have to IP interfaces in
different subnets using a bridge and eth0

       IP1
         |
       bridge--+ IP2
                    | |
                    +-----eth0

but only IP1 at bridge really works, at IP2 arp does not work,
I can reach only hosts, for which I enter arp entries manually
with arp program.
If pinging IP2 from outside without manually entering their
MACs into arp cache, their MACs appear in arp-cache of bridge
, but not in that of eth0.
I binging outside hosts with IP2, arp cache of eth0 allways has
00:00:00:00:00:00 and flags 0 for their IP, is that a known bug
or did I miss some configuration ?
Thanks in advance
         Peter
