   And most router are based on Deterministic data & control path,
   using preemptive kernel. So perfromance-wise the "Non-deterministic"
   behaviour is still an issue if we want to use linux for "Core Router "
   applications unless Real-time extensions are used.
   
If softirqd actually runs, things are severly out of whack on
your computer.

Softirq's should always normally run straight out of hw interrupt
trap return.

I'm going to stop posting to these lists, it's like talking to a brick
