Hi!
Pure theoretical question, although I think the specialists which
can contribute to the answer are right here on this list (it's
not in any FAQ I read though):
How can I measure the size of the network buffer of a network
component at the downstream endpoint?
In other words: How can I obtain the buffer size of my DSLAM
just from information gathered at my linux box ?
It should be possible since TCP fills the buffer until packets
are dropped. From the time a packet is lost to the time of it's
retransmission it should be possible to figure out the buffer size,
but I don't really know how to do this in a precise and correct
way.
Thanks in advance for any info, pointers, remarks,
Walter
