have a linux box doing proxy hooked up to a Shaw Cable Modem, is there anyone else on this list doing the same through them
I know the guys on Vancouver Island go through Shaw too and was wondering if Shaw is doing the same musical networking on the Island
as well.
Have another box through Rogers Cable Modem; IP address has remained the same for almost 2 years now
the problem i am having in Airdrie is that they keep changing the network mask/ips/etc.... at least once a month, lately it has been
once a week.
does anyone know how to make linux do their crazy ass windooze DHCP??
in case I just confused someone with that statement, we all know what DHCP is, but normally there is a dedicated DHCP server that
you configure for, that I can do with linux. Have another proxy box running off of Telus ADSL doing "proper/normal" DHCP and it
works peachy keen.
what I can not do, and what I was hoping someone else knows how to do, is mimic the windows computer name DHCP that shaw uses to
pass the network to the cable modem clients?????
thank you kindly,
aj
