It's transfer encoded mail attachements from Microsoft Exchange and
Outlook...

Yep. It's called "tnef" by Thomas Boll, <tb@boll.ch>. You can find it
as part of SuSE Linux 6.3 in the ap1 section (binary) or zq1 section
(source). Couldn't find it as a simple tar-file (SIGH!!!), so look
at www.suse.com or any of its mirrors and exctract the source from
the SPM-file...
