ide-cd vs sr0 and ide-scsi

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the IDE-SCSI emulation
layer and SCSI-CDROM support as opposed to using the IDE-CDROM driver?

I'm looking for unsupported devices and missing ioctl() calls mostly.
