make zdisk problem

Recently, I have noticed the following weird behavior with make zdisk.

I have a P5-100 and am running 2.0.20.

In building a new kernel, I have done the following.

1. make mrproper
2. make xconfig
3. make dep; make clean; make zdisk

What happens is that everything proceeds just fine until the actual
copying of the kernel to the floppy. It then just hangs the
system.

When I reboot, I can do:
cd /usr/src/linux
make zdisk

and things finish properly.

This has happened every single time I have done this in the
past few days.

This did not happen when I built my kernel with 'make zlilo'.

Any ideas?

TIA,
