(Cross posting this to the aic7xxx list; it was started on
linux-kernel).

I got my adaptec APA-1480 starting to work under 2.4.0-test1-ac7 using
the patch posted by Garth Reese in the thread "Can't recognize Adaptec
APA-1480 in 2.4.0-test1-ac4".

With the patch applied, the card is recognized and the sequencer code is
downloaded. When I try to mount a drive later, I get the message that
is the subject of this mail.

Looking closer at the boot messages, I get:

scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 0,
lun 0 Inquiry 00 00 00 ff 00
SCSI host 0 abort (pid 0) timed out - resetting
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
later
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
SCSI host 0 reset (pid 0) timed out again -
probably an unrecoverable SCSI bus or device hang

This happens with either an Iomega zip disk or a Yamaha CRW4416 CD-RW
burner attached.

The version given in aic7xxx.c is 5.2.0.
