Hi,
When running a certain perl program (genindx from the LXR program), pre7
and pre8 have a nasty hang. The situation is 100% reproducable, it even
fails while indexing the same file.
As a result of the hang, programs such as "top" and "ps" become stuck in
"D" state. (according to /proc/XXX/status). When I do a
"cat /proc/PID_OF_GENINDX/status" the "cat" also becomes "D".
Pre7-4 didn't have this behavior, neither did pre6 or before.
I'm out of ideas to debug this thing, so if anyone has a good suggestion,
please let me know.
Greetings,
Arjan van de Ven
PS:
It is a BP6 machine, but I doubt hardware has anything to do with it as
the problem is 100% reproducable.
